Team Roleplaying Games
Team roleplaying games includes the traditional dice&paper type of tabletop roleplaying game that many con-goers are familiar with, but as roleplaying has evolved more styles have been developed. Games in this category might instead involve stronger aspects of improvised storytelling or even a degree of physical acting (though without going as far in this regard as the multiform or freeform categories).
The most defining characteristic of these events, though, is the expectation that you will share the experience with a small group of fellow players, and many attendees prefer to organise their own teams in advance for these events rather than joining "scratch teams" at the convention.
Team roleplaying games are often much more heavily influenced by the choice of rules system than the other categories of roleplaying events, so attendees might wish to pay extra attention to an event's system when considering entering events in this category. Of particular note are those games called "Systemless"; these games use no published rules system, and use mechanics sparingly if at all.
