"What is Arcanacon?"
Arcanacon is a roleplaying games convention which has been running since 1983. Arcanacon provides a venue for roleplayers of all ages to gather and enjoy a wide variety of games. Attractions at Arcanacon include tournaments in many different genres, ranging from traditional "round the table" games and trading card games, to the more mobile, "freeform" style games. Trophies and/or prize certificates are awarded to winners in most tournaments. Come along to the convention to try new styles of games, play old favourites and give yourself the opportunity to meet likeminded, fun-loving gamers!Visitors
Visitors are welcome. There is a $2.00 per day entry charge. If you wish to enter any tournaments you must register as a player. Visitors do not need to pre-register.
Tournaments
Places are limited in all tournaments. Many are booked out before the Convention begins, so enter early to avoid missing out on the events you really want to play. There will be 13 timetabled sessions during the Convention. Times for these are indicated on the entry form and also on the back cover of this booklet. Please do not pre-register for more than 11 sessions (you can add more sessions when you arrive at the con, if places & session times are available). It is important that you check your session times when you arrive at the Con., as we are not responsible for missed sessions. Thursday's playing sessions are at 2 and 5pm. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the doors open at 8.30am. The last sessions on Friday and Saturday finish at 9.45 pm. On Sunday, the final session finishes at 6.45pm, and is followed by an Awards Ceremony. Please note that final confirmation of entry into tournaments and times of play will not be available until the convention begins. All tournaments are subject to variation without notice.
