When and where is it?

Arcanacon XXVIII will be held at Collingwood College, Hoddle St, not quite opposite the Collingwood Town Hall (Melways 2C, G9). It is close to Collingwood Station and Johnston St, and effectively on Hoddle St.

In 2010, the convention begins on the Saturday morning instead of the Thursday or Friday, and runs until Tuesday night. This is to take advantage of the Australia Day holiday, which awkwardly falls on the Tuesday this year.

The con starts on the 23rd of January and runs for 4 days. Please note the Monday is not a public holiday - nonetheless we hope people can make time to come along to the Con.

Festivities begin at 9am on the Saturday and continue until prizegiving at 7.30pm on the Tuesday, in the process cramming in 15 sessions of roleplaying, wargames, boardgames and more.

Convention Timetable

Wargaming and miniatures events start from 9am Saturday, and the first roleplaying sessions are from 1pm Saturday From then onwards, tournaments are run in 2.5 hour sessions, each in a 3 hour block. Saturday, Sunday and Monday each have sessions at 9am, 1pm, 4pm and 8pm. Tuesday has sessions at 9am, 1pm and 4pm, and prizegiving from 7.30pm onward.

Don't forget: Monday is not a public holiday in Victoria - bear that in mind when making up your timetable!

The convention doors open at 8:30 am each day. Cashing in on the long summer day, we're giving you an hour for lunch and an hour for tea, and then taking advantage of balmy nighttime to run the convention until 11pm.

Arcanacon closes on Tuesday evening with the Awards Ceremony, closely followed by the Post Con Do.
