Planet of the BollywoodsIt's 1898, Queen Victoria's mighty Empire covers the entire globe and it's only a matter of time before those pesky few Frenchies left resisting in Borneo are taught their proper place. The Royal Society's boffins have sent their steam powered rockets to the moon and with expeditions to Mars, Jupiter and Saturn well underway, it's time for a valiant explorer to take up the next challenge and travel to the stars, bringing the enlightenment only Her Majesty's glorious civilisation can. A small wooden rocket takes off, crewed by a few intrepid souls sets off into the inky blackness of night, towards a distant star. Later, on the Planet Of The Bollywoods! The monsoon season is late this year. The threat of war between the nations of Biharhi and Uttarakhandspikh grows as skirmishes along the border begin to escalate and troops begin to mobilise. The Maharajah has announced that if the rains do not come soon, he will be forced to sacrifice his only daughter to appease the gods and hopefully end the drought. First though, a night of feasting to try and appease Indra (God of the Rains), Ganesha (God of Wisdom) and Lakshmi (Goddess of Fertility), that they might smile once more on the land. But! Strangers, with pale skin and odd clothing have arrived in a fantastic wooden fish they claim swims between the stars. Can these strangers save the Princess' life? Will romance flourish? Can war be averted? Is there going to be a lot of water?
Planet Of The Bollywoods! is a freeform farce by Mik Bonsall for 23 players.
