Have you got a whole heap of roleplaying material you don't want any more?
How about board games that make you bored? Any odd lots of CCG boosters or orphan miniatures? Do you need to make space to properly display all your pokemon figures?
Arcanacon has the answer!*
This year we'll be conducting the third annual...
Arcanacon Second-Hand, Dog-Eared and Pre-Loved Auction.
It's open to anyone who wants to bring their trash and carry away someone else's treasure. You're welcome to bring and sell pretty-much anything that's game and geek related
This is how it works:
Starting on Saturday, we will display all the auction lots near to the rego desk. Come back regularly, as we expect more items to arrive as time passes. The auction will start shortly after midday on Sunday. Everyone is welcome to attend and to bid. We will announce the location of the auction on the Sunday (it depends on the size of the crowd).
We will accept items for sale right up to the start of the auction. Please take an auction slip from the rego desk, complete the details, and securely attach it to the item so that people can read the reserve (minimum) price. We recommend you do this as soon as possible, so you can show off your wares and generate some interest.
There are two more things you must do:
- If there is anything wrong with the item, you must state the problem clearly on the slip. This could be a coffee stain on page 82, a missing the rulebook, or your remote-control R2D2 might not work at all: whatever the case, be honest! Our skilled auctioneer will do his best to extort maximum returns on your behalf.
- Please make bundles of related items. If we have to sell dozens of items one at a time, the auction will take hours, so make bundles of items to be sold together i.e. put all your AD&D 2nd Ed books together in Bundle 1, all your old Dr Who books in Bundle 2, and your die-cast robot can be Bundle 3.
Easy enough? If you're not sure, check with us on the day.
After it's all over and everything has been settled, just come to rego to pick up your cash. Any items that are unsold will be returned to the owner. Any money or items left at the end of the con must be picked up by the owners - Arcanacon does not have the facilities to return or store your things, nor can we arrange for a later payment.
Let's not be silly. Original software, videos and DVDs only. No pets or people. No services may be auctioned. No weapons. No food or drink (we don't care how good your home-made lembas bread is).*
