Living ArcanisLiving Arcanis is the RPGA-enabled campaign run by Paradigm Concepts Inc. It is a high-intrigue, Roman-Empire type fantasy setting that uses the current edition D&D d20 rules set. Living Arcanis is the "thinking gamers" campaign. A campaign where things are very much in the gray, intrigue is more common than oxygen, the world is always on the brink of world-shattering events and heroes are truly heroes. Pure brawn might get you somewhere, but not far enough -- the big dimwitted fighter will have a hard time at anything more than mercenary work, but then again, for whom? What will his choice of employer be and how will that affect his future? His connections? It is a land of magic where payment is readily available but the cost of living is as ever-changing as the currents of air in the sky. Intrigue, good stories, engaging history, challenges and hard won rewards LA-IK-MID-01-01 A Trickle Down Deal In Midake the currents of power and influence are as treacherous as the depths of her harbor. Who do you turn your back on when you swim with sharks to the port and an eel to the starboard? Would you ally with the eel, the sharks, or be eaten by something much worse? This LIVING ARCANIS INTRODUCTORY adventure is designed for 1st to 5th level characters (APL 1 through 5). Characters not within this level range may not be played in this scenario. LA-IK-EMS-01-01 The Long Shadow The environment of today was created in the histories of the past. Not all historical events are equal. Some deeds are meaningless and thus quickly lost. Some deeds are significant and their implications are like a long shadow, stretching far beyond their source. Alas, the truths of these events are sometimes lost to history through turmoil, or are deliberately hidden. Where possible scholars, like members of the Emerald Society, seek this knowledge so that past truths may be reclaimed and understood. Sadly turmoil is not confined to the past. Construction on the Red March - so named for all the blood spilled in its construction - has been terminated by the Swords of Nier. While this is perhaps one of their most popular edicts, not all are pleased. The Emerald Society has depended on the presence of both workers and taskmasters. Now, they need additional stout backs and strong arms to ensure the security of a supply train. This LIVING ARCANIS INTRODUCTORY adventure is designed for 1st to 5th level characters (APL 1 through 5). Characters not within this level range may not be played in this scenario. LA-IK-ENP-01-02 Upon a Troubled Brow The prophet Deolpholis once said, "Evil and good, like black and white, but how does one know which white is right?" When such choices lay before you, the consequences invariably weigh heavily upon a troubled brow. Heroes are needed to help solve a series of ghastly murders at the Temple of Solemn Passage just outside Enpebyn where the grisly trail of bodies might lead to friends and enemies both old and new. This scenario is a continuation of the "Forges of Mystery" series. As such, it is highly recommended that players select characters that have previously participated in LA-SP4-06 Blood of Innocence and LA-SP4-07 Under a Blood-Red Sky. Undead and known Coryani Loyalist PCs will likely find this scenario extremely frustrating and/or arbitrarily deadly unless they have influential friends in high places or a hidden stash of gold to grease the right palms. This is a LIVING ARCANIS STANDARD adventure, designed for 5th to 18th level characters (APL 5 through 17 and a "Glory Tier"). WARNING! Some of the combats in this scenario can be extremely difficult if approached in the wrong way. For any party with questionable combat ability, it is highly suggested that you play down if possible.
LA-IK-OCR-01-01 To Cast Shadows on the Sun When an old and bitter feud is put to rest, an uneasy peace follows. But those that travel the darker paths of Old Coryan have no use for peace; or at least prefer the cover and distraction that chaos gives. Could the fragile alliance be broken already or are there heroes that can lift a hand and hold back the tide of shadowed fiends? This LIVING ARCANIS INTRODUCTORY adventure is designed for 1st to 5th level characters (APL 1 through 5). Characters not within this level range may not be played in this scenario.
To Craft the Vaults of Hell A contingent of Nol Dappan dwarves has arrived in Old Coryan at the request of High Priest Matarus Virdan-Altun, to assist High Priest Enkhu Shapseti with the rebuilding of the Myrantian Ghetto. They are outsiders, worshippers of Coryani Gods, and mistrusted by the very people they are building for. Some in the Ghetto feel this is a mistake, for under foreign hands who knows what dark secrets will come to light? Indeed, some in the Ghetto feel this most strongly. A module for 1st-10th level characters. Note: Characters with the cert Enmity of the Priests of Mahememn?n will find this adventure difficult, if not impossible, to complete. This is a STANDARD LIVING ARCANIS adventure, designed for 1st to 10th level characters (APL 2 through 11). Characters not within this level range may not be played in this scenario.
