Imperial Front IV
the cannon ball lament

Gunner! - Sabot! - Tank!

once more into the breach dear friends, once more

Identified! - Up!

or fill it up with your traitorous dead

Fire! - On The Waaay!

thought Colonel Heinrich Howitzer amongst his crews ritual like battle communications.

Target! - Cease Fire!

The smell of burning promethium and spent cordite wafted into the cramped turret as the final heretic tank exploded.

"Nothing smells more like victory, hey Sergeant?"

"Aint that the truth, Sir!

Scanning the area, Colonel Howitzer surveyed the burning tank wreckage that was the remains of the heretics last attempt to push forward through his commands outer perimeter.

"Well Sergeant, that looks like all of them, I think its time we went hunting."

DRIVER! - ADVANCE!

"Keep a sharp eye out for that Arch heretic Cannonball the Craven. Intel thinks that this time he may actually have taken the field against us."

"I wouldnt be holding your breath though, Sir!"

"Aint that the truth, Sergeant."

Game Information

Imperial Front returns to Arc for the fourth time. This year we see a change of command with the WARS crew stepping forward to pick up the baton from Pedro and the Panzer Committee. The rules will be pretty much the same as last year.

  • The double movement for all vehicles will be used again. It will just be implemented slightly differently for clarity. This will be explained on the day.
  • We will be using a six foot wide table with enough length for each player to have a two foot wide deployment zone.
  • There will be numerous strategic points to capture with those closest to your opponents deployment edge being worth more VP. A select few strategic points will also have an enhancing effect on your tanks abilities while your side controls them.
  • 1500pt armies will be used chosen from a single codex.
  • No force organisation charts will be used and more than one detachment is allowed.
  • This is a tank versus tank game so;
    • No infantry units
    • No bikes
    • No walkers
    • No Skimmers
  • No off board support (i.e. artillery strikes, orbital bombardments etc). In short, if you want to use it, it has to be a model that the enemy can get to.
  • Fliers allowed.
  • Superheavy tanks allowed.
  • Vehicles from the Imperial Armour series of books are allowed provided the army you are using is allowed to take them. (No chaos vehicles in imperial armies for example). You must bring a copy of its stats, points cost and any special rules to the table.
  • Any Titans will be using the rules and points costs from IA 2005 update. (I believe its the most recent release for them)
  • Transport vehicles may be used without infantry squads. (Just buy them for their standard points cost plus any upgrades)
  • Every model must be fully assembled and painted.
  • VP awarded for destroying and damaging enemy vehicles and for holding strategic points at the end of the game. VP cards can be downloaded at http://40k.arcanacon.org/imperial-front-units.pdf

Vehicle Design Rules.

VDR will be allowed on a case by case basis. Complete stats, all points calculations and photos showing your vehicle must be sent to the organiser no later than the 1st of January for approval. Be aware that any VDR vehicle must be fully assembled, painted and have all equipment and weapons fully modelled in a representative manner. No exceptions.

I am not looking to see super vehicles of doom, but well modelled vehicles that exist in the 40K universe that GW have not yet seen fit to produce. Sending supporting documentation that shows your vehicle exists in the 40K universe and its weapons fit will improve your chances of being able to use it.

Awards.

Best Tank Commander:
He who gets the most VP.
Tank Ace:
The single vehicle which racks up the most VP. Less its own points cost if it is destroyed.
Best Army:
Player vote on who has the best tank collection on the day.

When and Where.

The game will be held after the final 40K round during the Saturday night session at the con. Assemble at the 40K tournament briefing area and you will be directed to the room that we will be playing in.
