Journey to the New World

On his return to the lands of Theah, Christobel Gallegos was greeted with a hero's welcome. Word spread through the streets of Vaticine City before the weary sailor had even left his battered and rotting ship, and thronging crowds filled the streets between the palace and the harbour to marvel at a man long believed dead or lost forever.

Gallegos and his officers were the honoured guests of our Queen for a banquet this past eve. Between courses, all bent their ears to hear tales of the new lands far to the West. He spake of wide, verdant lands filled with lush jungles and mighty rivers. Gallegos' scribe did not survive the hazardous journey, but sketches of strange beasts and barbarous peoples were shown to Her Royal Majesty and her advisors. The court is rife with speculation about the riches that indubitably lie fallow for our taking. Explorers and adventurers are amazed and eager to explore new worlds. Many speak of glory to be won for crown and country, while others seek the chance to take the grace of Theus to the barbarian tribes

It has been six months of foul sailing cramped upon this scow of a vessel. Many began to wonder if Gallegos had gone mad and doubt his tales of this mysterious new world, but we must have faith. At last, a scant hour before sunset this evening, the watch called 'land ho' and Castille Nuevo revealed herself against the dusk horizon. Tomorrow, if we believe the tales, we shall arrive to a land of plenty , riches and glory. I pray that this time apart from my darling wife has not been wasted, and that the bright sun on the morrow reveals a new Eden.
