Flames of War is an easy, fun and popular set of miniatures rules.
Players control a company of World War Two troops in battle using 15mm
scale miniatures.
Players will use painted 15mm scale Mid War armies of up to 1500 points
selected using the latest version of the applicable intelligence
handbook or official briefing from the Battlefront website or if neither
are available the rulebook. Unofficial briefings and earlier versions of
handbooks are not permitted but note that handbook updates are available
on the Battlefront website.
- The draw will be swiss by score with the best attempt made to match
historical opponents. If necessary the Organiser will play byes to make
numbers even.
- Terrain will be pre-set and fully defined.
- Missions used will be Free for All, Hold the Line, The Cauldron,
Fighting Withdrawal and Breakthough.
- Death From Above and The Big Push may be used but only if both players
agree to do so.
- All Experimental rules from "Lessons from the Front III" available on
the battlefront website http://www.flamesofwar.com/ will be used.
- Trophies and prizes of Mind Games vouchers to a total value of $200 will
be awarded for the top 3 overall scores, Best General, Best Army and
Most Sporting player.
- Scoring for Best General will be the sum of the scores of each round.
- Scoring for Most Sporting Player will be by each player awarding up to 2
points each day to their opponents.
- Scoring for Best army will be judged by the organiser and be 0-3 each
for painting, army list design and background plus an extra point if the
player provides sufficient usable terrain pieces for at least half a
table. Contact the organiser for details of scoring criteria or if you
can provide terrain pieces.
- Scoring for overall placing will be double the best general score plus
the other scores.
Army lists indicating which briefing was used to design them,
accompanied by a background not exceeding one page are to be emailed to
