They say that the war had been in a stalemate for generations with neither our people nor the Dwellers willing to back down. The magic we brought against each other grew more and more powerful until the ultimate in madness was unleashed... we broke the sun.

The sun began to burn a terrible red.
The world forests withered to ash.
Our cities collapsed.
Horrific monsters and strange plants thrived in this new world and quickly pushed us from our places of power.

Our people started calling the sun the Angel, for it was the herald of our doom.

Our goddess led us to safety deep beneath the earth. For two hundred years we have lived here, but we have traded a quick death under the claws of the Angel Spawn for a slow demise in the endless dark.

But there may still be hope. We may have one last chance to save our people. All we need now is the courage to return to the surface and take back our world...
