In the Blood

"In the final titanic battle between two mighty warriors, Horus was felled by a sneak attack from one of Set's followers. As Set raised his Khopesh to deliver the killing blow, Horus' first lieutenant, Moonclaw, of the Silent Striders, leapt into the path of the blade, taking the blow that would have killed his master and doomed Egypt to an eternity of darkness. As he fell, Moonclaw passed his blade, slick with his own blood, to Horus, who took it up and drove it into Set's dark heart. The Dark One collapsed, mortally wounded, but refused to die.

Enraged, Set's followers attacked in a fury, seizing their master's body before Horus could destroy it. Moonclaw was buried with full honour, the blade that had defeated Set placed gently in his cold hands by his grateful master.

Unfortunately, many of Set's followers escaped to plot revenge and the resurrection of their master. Using their dark magics, they divined the knowledge required to resurrect Set, as well as bringing about Gehenna and the end of the world. All that was required was the correct alignment of the stars, and the blood of the slayer..."
