The Gods Must be Crazy

Written and presented by Izzy and Callum.

You sit in a dimly lit room beside your mother's death bed. The oil lamp casts flickering shadows across her gaunt face. You have been praying that the goddess will find her soul worthy of the afterlife.

Today your prayers have been answered. Ma'at herself has descended from the heavens to judge the purity of your mother's soul. Before your eyes, Ma'at reaches into your mother's chest and brings forth her still-beating heart. She weighs the heart against her feather, then declares, "Her soul shall be redeemed".

Having cleansed her hands of blood, Ma'at walks from your hovel muttering about testing the remaining hoards of walking dead. Almost as an afterthought she turns back to you, and casually takes your heart from your chest. As the darkness closes in, the last you hear amidst your fading screams is Ma'at's voice saying that your soul too, will be saved.
