Settlers of Catan

Settlers of Catan is a boardgame for 3-6 players.
It is remarkably simple to learn, yet incredibly addictive and has endless replay potential; new players are warned that they will probably get hooked!
Each player controls the economy of a group of competing colonists on the island of Catan, managing scarce resources, trading (bickering?) with other settlers, building roads, towns and cities, financing improvements, and creating an army to deal with the pesky burglar.
Settlers of Catan is the greatest!
Over two sessions we will play at least three games. If at all possible all games will be four players (to allow time to finish). The first game will be played with the "standard" board set-up, to make things as even as possible for new players. For the subsequent games boards will be laid out randomly. All games will be played with Resource Cards exposed, and Development Cards hidden. A modified "Swiss" pairing system will be used, so cut-throat winners will meet up with one another. Anyone who owns Settlers of Catan and can bring their set along will be very welcome and receive a $2 refund on their entry.
