Dearest Diary (wrote Nadia)
Mummy and Daddy just can't understand why I simply cannot go to
the
colonies. As if I need to attend finishing school. I'm perfectly
finished. And Mars will simply ruin my complexion. I shall simply
have to pretend I have the consumption.

Dearest Diary
Mummy and Daddy were completely taken in by my acting. I'm rather
good at such things (Perhaps I shall go on the stage), but Dr
Van
Wigglebottom was not ... Alas.

It's my last day in Mother England for some time. All my entreaties
have come to naught. Daddy is such a beast. He simply will not
listen to reason.

Dearest
Diary
This ghastly ship just will not do for a a young lady. I've
met the
girls who will be my closest chums over the next two years
and Sister
Busby our governess.
A queer lot, there is no denying.
Harmony rather fancies herself as a singer. She seems innocent
to most things, specially her dreadful voice.
Jane is very plain. Poor girl, I expect she will never marry.
Regina is rather queer. She prefers to be called 'Reggie'.
She is loud, uncouth and walks like a man. She definately
requires finishing.
Our governess
is Sister Busby of the order of Eternal Burden. She seems
nervous. Perhaps she hasn't had much to do with young girls
before...
