Face down on the cold, earthen floor, the goblin muttered something in the hissing tongue of goblinkind. For his efforts, the goblin earned a sharp kick to the ribs.

    "What did he say?" asked Gendana.
    "It's a goblin chant" answered Marlis, hoping to end it there.
    "and?" continued Gendana.
    "Drink deeply
    When the battle is won,
    And bite hard
    Children of dark Malugi
    Down to the bone.    " recited Marlis without enthusiasm.

    There was a pause and then, "Bind him, and find a muzzle"
